Happiness Opportunity Project Global, in partnership with Golden Bridge, Shake The Dust, and Power of Hope, brought two Ugandan breakdancers, Eric Egesa and Fahadhi Kiryowa, to the US for three months during the summer of 2015. In Boulder, Colorado they participated in Golden Bridge's international youth leadership camp, Surfing the Creative, where they shared cultural insights about rite of passage experiences with youth from around the world. In California and Alaska, they promoted the documentary film that they star in, Shake The Dust, which chronicles the global influence of breakdance in underserved communities in Uganda, Cambodia, Colombia, and Yemen. Eric and Fahadhi performed, screened the film, and talked about the impact breakdance has had on their lives growing up in the urban slums of Kampala, Uganda. At the end of their three months in the US, they taught breakdance and afro-urban dance workshops at Power of Hope, a youth empowerment & creative arts camp near Seattle, Washington.
